Do you know Vendée Globe?

The Vendée Globe is a round-the-world single-handed yacht race, sailed non-stop and without assistance. The 7th edition started Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Les Sables d’Olonne, Vendée, France, where it would also end.

The first to arrive at the finishing line on Jan 27th 2012 was François Gabart (boat name: Macif) who set a new Vendée Globe record with race time of 78 days 2 hours 16 minutes and 40 seconds. The interval of 3h17’ between his arrival and that of second-placed Armel Le Cléac’h ( boat name: Banque Populaire) is the shortest in the race’s history.
